This year, there will be 100 scholarships at three levels:
Diamond ($3,000)
Gold ($2,000)
Silver ($1,000) in two programs:
Who Are Eligible For The Scholarship
Both Vietnamese-American Students and Non-Vietnamese American Students who are enrolled in the listed institution below are beneficiaries of this year's kimmy duong scholarship program.
- NOVA Community College (NOVA)
- University of Virginia (UVA)
- Montgomery College (MC)
- The University of Maryland (UMD)
- Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU)
- Virginia Polytechnic Institute (VPI)
- George Mason University (GMU)
How To Apply For kimmy duong scholarship
Application is in two categories: Returning Recipients and New Applicants.
Steps For New Applicants:
- Summerize your academic and personal achievement in a 1-2 pages resume as a PDF file
- Acquire an official transcript of your current academic work from your institution in a PDF format.
- Describe your Vietnamese/American/Others heritage in a 1-2 page essay (PDF format) stating how it has shaped you into who you are today. Also include your various experience in community service activities and the challenges/hardships (if any) you have overcome to further higher education.
- Obtain a 1 page recommendation later (PDF) from 3 individuals. These persons should identify their relationship with you and as well comment about your character and leadership skills. The name, title and institution of these persons should be stated in the later. They can email email their recommendation later directly to thekimmyduongfoundation@gmail.com stating your full name and your home address as stated in your resume/application.
- Lastly, state the reason you need financial assistance and also provide your current financial situation.
After you have obtained all the requirements stated above, you can visit the official website to submit your resume or click this link to redirect you there. You will receive an acknowledgement email after you completing your submission.
